NAACP’s Telecommunications Industry Report Card For four consecutive years, BellSouth earned the top spot on the NAACP’s Telecommunications Industry Report Card. The supplier diversity program has been a key factor in earning this competitive honor. The NAACP distributes this report card to civil rights groups, government agencies and other organizations as a reference for making informed choices when selecting a telecommunications provider. DiversityBusiness.com Members of DiversityBusiness.com has selected BellSouth as one of the top 50 corporations providing multicultural businesses opportunities for two straight years. DiversityBusiness.com is the largest member organization of diversity owned businesses in the United States. Over 150,000 women and minority owned businesses had the opportunity to participate in the online poll conducted through the Div2000.com Internet site. Crystal Award The Georgia Minority Supplier Development Council(GMSDC) awarded BellSouth the Crystal Award. This honor is presented to the GMSDC corporate or government member that publicly demonstrates commitment to minority business development. Specifically, BellSouth was recognized for the procurement initiatives it has designed to reach out to minority business enterprises, for the supplier relationships it has fostered with minority business and for the development of exceptional tier 2 and mentor protégé programs. Corporate Citizenship Award Georgia recognized BellSouth for its support of minority suppliers and its participation in support of education and economic development with the state. |
